Driven by the desire to create and connect the viewer through my works, I am particularly interested in the elements of the everyday. My practice deals with exploring notions of memory and the individual’s relation to it through the process of time. Through time, objects are lost and transformed. My intention is to revive that moment in time, evoking nostalgia. Mainly, I would like to depict the nature of interpretation in my series of works.
Depending on how you look at it, one would not miss the irregularity of strokes and extended cracks that can be related in so many ways, even psychological according to the viewer’s emotional or intellectual fixations.
Dina graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2010. She has since participated in various exhibitions such as Mi Casa Su Casa (2013), Daixy Galasy at INSTINC; an exhibition collaboration with Fyerool Darma (2012) and also Alliance Francaise’s 2nd France + Singapore New Generation Artists (2010) to name a few. She won the Merit Prize for Squares Invasion - The 50cm x 50cm Painting Show (2011) at INSTINC. She was awarded the Highly Commended Prize for the 28th UOB Painting of the Year competition in 2009.
